Children’s Charter (Childrens-Charter.org) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting children from preventable harm caused by adult oversight, neglected responsibility, or reliance on generic risk assessments.

In our experience, such shortcomings too often result in avoidable injuries to children up to 18 years by adults entrusted to protect them.

We believe it is essential that door finger protection is properly risk assessed, professionally installed, and consistently maintained by qualified specialists—specifically those with proven expertise in door safety. Generalist approaches are not sufficient.

Where risks are foreseeable and practical solutions exist, failure to act proactively cannot reasonably be considered an accident. Avoidable injury, in such circumstances, is preventable and therefore unacceptable. This amounts to criminal negligence that the child has 3 years form their 18th birthday to pursue the adult/s responsible in criminal and, or civil court.
