Talk & Move is a holistic programme designed to support children’s speech, language and emotional regulation through movement. This research-based programme was created by Helen Guntrip, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and children’s yoga teacher with over 20 years expertise working with early years settings and families.

Suitable for children of all ages and abilities, Talk & Move offers an inclusive approach that supports different learning styles. The programme uses a combination of active, balancing and calming moves to support children’s emotional regulation whilst having fun making sounds and moving.

Training provides early years educators with high-quality, expert-led CPD that can be applied immediately in practice.

Delivered either in-person or live online, the training covers:

• How to use the 29 Talk & Move cards – the moves, signs and sounds.
• The Talk & Move ABC – how to use Active, Balancing and Calming moves to support children’s emotional regulation.
• How and when children develop speech sounds and ways to support development.
• How to support children’s vocabulary development and word learning.
• How to use the progress trackers for each of the 3 prime areas of the EYFS.
• The importance of phonological awareness and how to screen children’s ability in this area.
• How to adapt the programme for different ages and abilities.
• How the programme supports you to meet the updated Ofsted inspection framework.

You will receive a comprehensive training manual containing ready to use session plans, a playlist of songs and rhymes, progress trackers and a phonological awareness screener. You will also get your own pack of Talk & Move cards and 4 A4 themed pictures to use in sessions.

Talk & Move cards are an award winning (‘Most Impactful Early Years Resource 2025’) resource for use with individuals, small groups or whole-class sessions. Each card includes a visual prompt for children and clear guidance for adults, making them easy to pick up and use.
